and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO.67 -42
RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LEGISLATION RESTRICTING THE
APPROPRIATION OF GROUND WATERS FOR USE IN AIR CONDITIONING
WHEREAS, the reservoirs of ground water in the Twin Cities metro-
politan area constitute a major natural resource which should be utilized in
a judicious manner; and
WHEREAS, the use of such ground water for commercial air conditioning
wherein the cooling mechanism does not provide for the re- circulation of water
constitutes an injudicious waste of a natural resource:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center as follows:
1. The City Council supports and endorses the concepts of
conservation embodied in Senate File 430, and the representa-
tives of the people of Brooklyn Center are herewith called upon
to work for the adoption of this legislation.
2. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this
resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the
representatives of the 32nd legislative district, and the
chairmen of the appropriate legislative committees.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the
following voted in favor thereof: Howard Heck, John Leary, Gordon Erickson
and Theodore Willard,
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
