HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-045 CCR r Member Theodore Willard. introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO.67 -45 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ADOPTION OF AIR POLLUTION CONTROL LEGISLATION WHEREAS, problems related to the pollution of the atmosphere are constantly increasing, both in number and severity; and WHEREAS, the City Council concurs in the principals set forth in a resolution adopted by the League of Minnesota Municipalities regarding the responsibilities for, and enforcement of, air pollution control programs: i NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council endorses and supports the adoption of air pollution control legislation, specifically those proposals embodied in Senate File 463 and House File 487, and the representatives of the people of Brooklyn Center in the Senate and House of Representatives are herewith urged to work for the adoption of this legislation. 2. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the representatives of the 32nd legislative district, and the chairmen of the appropriate legislative commit*ees,/ February 27, 1967 Date ayor ATTEST: The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, john Leary, Howard Heck, Gordon Erickson and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
