RESOLUTION NO. 67 -58
RESOLUTION REGARDING THE REZONING OF PROPERTY IN
BROOKLYN PARK AS REQUESTED BY MR. WILLIAM COOPER
WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has been given notice of a
proposed change in zoning classification from "Residential Townhouse" and
"Residential A" to "Light Industrial" of the property within the Village of
Brooklyn Park legally described as:
"The northeast 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of Section 33,
Township 119, Range 21, (including the south 168 feet
of the west 135 feet) comprising approximately 36.380
acres, Hennepin County, Minnesota.
and
WHEREAS, the property proposed for rezoning abuts, for several
hundreds of feet, single family residential properties within the City of
Brooklyn Center; and
WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Planning Commission and Council,
during their planning studies, have generally accepted the planning principle
that industrial and single family residential uses of land are not compatible
neighboring uses, and lack proper transition:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Brooklyn Center, that the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Park
be requested to take adequate precautions in its planning and zoning of
properties adjacent to and abutting the City of Brooklyn Center so that
undesirable combinations of land uses will not develop along our common
boundaries.
