HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-058 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 67 -58 RESOLUTION REGARDING THE REZONING OF PROPERTY IN BROOKLYN PARK AS REQUESTED BY MR. WILLIAM COOPER WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center has been given notice of a proposed change in zoning classification from "Residential Townhouse" and "Residential A" to "Light Industrial" of the property within the Village of Brooklyn Park legally described as: "The northeast 1/4 of the southwest 1/4 of Section 33, Township 119, Range 21, (including the south 168 feet of the west 135 feet) comprising approximately 36.380 acres, Hennepin County, Minnesota. and WHEREAS, the property proposed for rezoning abuts, for several hundreds of feet, single family residential properties within the City of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Planning Commission and Council, during their planning studies, have generally accepted the planning principle that industrial and single family residential uses of land are not compatible neighboring uses, and lack proper transition: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center, that the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Park be requested to take adequate precautions in its planning and zoning of properties adjacent to and abutting the City of Brooklyn Center so that undesirable combinations of land uses will not develop along our common boundaries. February 27, 1967 Date Mayor ATTEST: z, cam Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Theodore Willard, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Howard Heck, Gordon Erickson and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
