HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-074 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 67 -74 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING LEGISLATION ADOPTING A UNIFORM ASSESSMENT RATIO WHEREAS, basic principals of taxation indicate the importance of uniform bases in the application of tax burdens, and WHEREAS, there are in existance in the State of Minnesota large disparities in the application of assessment ratios among assessment districts, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council endorses and supports the adoption of legislation requiring that true and full value for tax purposes be one -third l i of market value, as embodied in H.G. 1183 and S.F. 977. 2. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the representatives of the 32nd legislative district, the Hennepin County legislative delegation, the authors of the bill, and the chairmen of the appropriate legislative ommittees G March 2 (l 19 6 7 Date Mayor ATTEST: Deputy dlerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gordon Erickson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
