HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-075 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 67 -75 RESOLUTION OPPOSING A FIXATION OF THE VALUE OF AGRICULTURAL PROPERTY WHEREAS, in developing urban communities, agricultural property may be held and nominally operated as agricultural property primarily for the purpose of property speculation, and WHEREAS, prohibiting the assessment authority from recognizing the true market value of such property would tend to support the continuance i of such practices, to the detriment of the development of the community, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council opposes the adoption of legislation which fixes the value of real property used for agricultural purposes as embodied in H.F. 1149. 2. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the representatives of the 32nd legislative district, the Hennepin County legislative delegation, the authors of the bill, and the chairmen of the appropriate legislative committee. March 20. 1967 Date Mayor ATTEST: beputy Cle1`� The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
