RESOLUTION NO. 67 -75
RESOLUTION OPPOSING A FIXATION OF THE VALUE OF
AGRICULTURAL PROPERTY
WHEREAS, in developing urban communities, agricultural property
may be held and nominally operated as agricultural property primarily
for the purpose of property speculation, and
WHEREAS, prohibiting the assessment authority from recognizing
the true market value of such property would tend to support the continuance
i
of such practices, to the detriment of the development of the community,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the
City of Brooklyn Center as follows:
1. The City Council opposes the adoption of legislation which fixes
the value of real property used for agricultural purposes as embodied in H.F. 1149.
2. The Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution
to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the representatives of the 32nd
legislative district, the Hennepin County legislative delegation, the authors
