HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-095 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 67 -95 RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE ADOPTION OF SENATE FILE 1327 REGARDING MEMBERSHIP OF THE P.E. R.A. BOARD OF TRUSTEES WHEREAS, it is the opinion of the City Council that the employing units of government should be represented on the board of trustees; and WHEREAS, the League of Minnesota Municipalities has adopted a resolution recommending such a change and has caused legislation to be introduced to achieve this end: NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The City Council endorses and supports the restructuring of the membership of the P.E.R.A. Board of Trustees as set forth in Senate File 1327 and the representatives of the people of Brooklyn Center are herewith called upon to work for the adoption of this legislation. 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to transmit copies of this resolution to the aforementioned representatives, the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the Hennepin County Legislative Delegation and the chairmen of the appropriate committees. April 3, 1967 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clcrk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gordon Erickson and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, John Leary, Gordon Erickson and Howard Heck, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
