Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution
and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 66 -304
RESOLUTION ACCEPTING WORK
(CONTRACTED BY VILLAGE)
WHEREAS, pursuant to a written contract signed with the
Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, Erwin Montgomery Construction
Company has satisfactorily completed the following improvement in
accordance with said contract:
Water Main Improvement Project No. 1966 -20
59th Avenue North from Xerxes Avenue to Upton Avenue;
60th Avenue North from Xerxes Avenue to Vincent Avenue;
Washburn Avenue North from 149 feet south of 59th Avenue to
approximately 185 feet north of 60th Avenue; Vincent Avenue
North from 149 feet south of 59th Avenue to 150 feet north
of 60th Avenue; Upton Avenue North from 150 feet south of
59th Avenue to 240 feet north of 59th Avenue.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Brooklyn Center:
1. The work completed under said contract is hereby accepted
and approved.
2. The value of work performed is less than the original con
tract amount by $1,288.58 because of general overestimating and
underestimating of plan quantities, and because the contractor bid
a unit price on 2" C.I.P. which was almost half the unit price bid
for 405 Lin. Ft. of 1 -1/2" copper. Therefore, to take advantage of
the economies therein, the 2" C.I.P. was substituted for the 1 -1/2"
copper as part of a field design change, at a substantial saving to
the Village.
3. It is hereby confirmed that final payment has been satis-
fied on said contract on November 14 1966, taking the contractor's
receipt in full. The total amount paid for said contract for said
improvement project was $26
