HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-317 CCR r Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -317 RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REZONING REQUESTED IN APPLICATION NO. 66069 WHEREAS, John D. Sheehan has submitted Application No. 66069 requesting rezoning of the property at the northwest corner of the inter- section of 65th and Humboldt Avenues North from R5 (multiple residential) to B2 (regional business); and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the request at a public hearing following proper legal notice, and has made its recommenda- tion to the Village Council to deny the application; and WHEREAS, THE Village Council has reviewed the record of the appli- cation, and is fully informed therewith; and WHEREAS, a letter of intent has been received from the present owners of the property in question stating that they have no intention of requesting any zoning for the property which they own to the north of this parcel beyond the R5 zoning presently in effect; and WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed the Village's Comprehensive Plan in regard to the subject request, and is of the opinion that the overall goals of the Plan would not be harmed by this rezoning, in that the Council recognizes the Plan as a general guide for decision making which must be flexible to meet changing conditions: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the rezoning to B2 requested in Application No. 66069 be granted. November 28, 1966 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons and Howard Heck, and the following voted against the same: Theodore Willard and John Leary, whereupon, the foregoing motion failed for lack of a 2/3 majority vote.
