Member Earl Simons introduced the following resolution and
moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 66 -317
RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REZONING
REQUESTED IN APPLICATION NO. 66069
WHEREAS, John D. Sheehan has submitted Application No. 66069
requesting rezoning of the property at the northwest corner of the inter-
section of 65th and Humboldt Avenues North from R5 (multiple residential)
to B2 (regional business); and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has reviewed the request at a
public hearing following proper legal notice, and has made its recommenda-
tion to the Village Council to deny the application; and
WHEREAS, THE Village Council has reviewed the record of the appli-
cation, and is fully informed therewith; and
WHEREAS, a letter of intent has been received from the present owners
of the property in question stating that they have no intention of requesting
any zoning for the property which they own to the north of this parcel beyond
the R5 zoning presently in effect; and
WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed the Village's Comprehensive Plan
in regard to the subject request, and is of the opinion that the overall goals
of the Plan would not be harmed by this rezoning, in that the Council recognizes
the Plan as a general guide for decision making which must be flexible to
meet changing conditions:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the
Village of Brooklyn Center that the rezoning to B2 requested in Application
No. 66069 be granted.
