HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-319 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -319 RESOLUTION APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE ACQUISITION OF 'OPEN SPACE LANDS WHEREAS, on April 18, 1966, the Village Council authorized the submission of an application to the Federal Government for financial assistance in the acquisition of public open space lands within the community; and WHEREAS, said application, having been subsequently numbered Application No. Minn. OSA -17, was approved by the Department of Housing and Urban Development and pursuant thereto, the Village has proceeded in the acquisition of lands listed in the application; and WHEREAS, a major condition of the Federal financial assistance is that the local community provide fifty percent of the funds necessary to accomplish the open space acquisition program; and WHEREAS, the Village share of land acquisition costs comprehended by the application is estimated to be $83, 000.00: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the sum of $83,000.00 be appropriated for the acquisition of open space lands listed in Application No. Minn. OSA -17, and that said appropriation be made to Account 475 -50 (Park Capital Outlay -Land Acquisition), such funds to be provided by the transfer of the sum of $40, 000.00 from General Fund Unappropriated Surplus and the sum of $43, 000.00 from Liquor Fund Unrestricted Surplus.
