HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-220 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -220 RESOLUTION REQUESTING EXTENSION OF TWIN CITY BUS LINE SERVICE ON OSSEO ROAD WHEREAS, the Village Council is desirous of securing increased bus service for the residents of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, in this regard a Mr. Lyn Gerber representing Twin City Lines, Inc. appeared before the Council at its meeting of July 18, 1966 to discuss bus service to the Village of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, Mr. Gerber outlined three alternatives for additional bus service for Brooklyn Center consisting of: (1) Extending the Osseo Road line north of the freeway; (2) providing Saturday service to the existing Osseo Road route; or (3) providing night time service to the existing bus route; and WHEREAS, it was determined that an extension of the existing Osseo Road route to a location in the vicinity of 69th and France Avenues North would not only provide a new and direct service to the citizens in that neigh- borhood but also tend to increase the frequency of service on the existing Osseo Road route NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota to request that the Twin City Lines, Incorporated make provisions to extend a bus service on Osseo Road into the vicinity of 69th and France Avenues North with the specific routing and terminal points being resolved between members of the Brooklyn Center Administrative Staff and Twin City Lines, Incorporated.
