moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 66 -124
RESOLUTION APPOINTING DONALD G. POSS VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR
AND SETTING FORTH CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
WHEREAS, a vacancy will exist in the position of Village Administrator
on June 27, 1966; and
WHEREAS, Donald G. Poss, Director of Public Works, has requested
consideration for appointment to the position of Village Administrator; and
WHEREAS, the Council has reviewed Mr. Poss's qualifications and
found him to be well qualified for the position; and
WHEREAS, the position of Village Administrator is not covered by the
provisions of Chapter 17 of the Village Ordinances; and
WHEREAS, the Council wishes to make an explicit statement of con-
ditions pertaining to the employment of Donald G. Poss as Village Administrator;
and
WHEREAS, Donald G. Poss has reviewed the provisions of this
resolution and is in agreement therewith:
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village
of Brooklyn Center as follows:
1. Donald G. Poss is appointed Village Administrator effective
June 27, 1966 and shall serve at the pleasure of the Council.
2. Mr. Poss shall perform the duties and meet the obligations of the
position of Village Administrator as those set forth in Chapter six of the
Village Ordinances.
3. Mr. Poss's salary shall be $14,800 per annum beginning June 27,
1966 and adjustment to the Village Administrator's salary shall be made
annually in conjunction with the establishment of salaries for Village employees
generally.
4. The Village Administrator shall be granted vacation, sick leave,
holidays, and upon termination, severance benefits in a manner identical to
that granted other permanent employees of the Village.
5. The Village Administrator shall continue to reside within the Village
of Brooklyn Center.

6. In the event of resignation, notice thereof shall be submitted
in writing to the Village Council at least thirty (30) days prior to the
effective date.
7. In the event of dismissal by the Village Council, the Village
Administrator shall be notified at least thirty (30) days in advance of the
effective date of dismissal and shall be furnished a written statement of
the reasons therefor, and further, shall be granted a hearing thereon if
requested.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded
by member Howard Heck, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following
voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, Howard Heck, John Leary
and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
