HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-011 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the followin g resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -11 RESOLUTION CORRECTING MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND STATE OF MINNESOTA FOR MAY 5, 1964 WHEREAS, the Village Council met on May 5, 1964 at 8 :15 P.M. in special session as the canvass board of the special municipal election held that day to consider the question of whether or not the Village should construct and equip a library and sell its general obligation bonds therefore; and WHEREAS, a canvass of the returns showed that 1522 votes were cast in favor of the proposition and 586 were cast against; and WHEREAS, the minutes of the said canvass meeting failed in so many words to "declare" that the election had been carried; and WHEREAS, the omission was a clerical oversight; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED to correct the above mentioned error by adding to the minutes of the said meeting the following language: "The election upon the question: 'Shall the Village of Brooklyn Center sell its General Obligation Bonds in the principal amount of $260, 000 for the purpose of constructing and equipping a library, such sum to be reduced by the amount of a federal grant, if any be received.' is hereby declared to be CARRIED. January 10, 1966 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member john Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, john Leary, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
