HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-012 CCR i Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -12 RESOLUTION REGARDING PROPOSED REZONING BY THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN PARK OF PROPERTY ADJOINING THE VILLAGE OF BROOKLYN CENTER WHEREAS, the Village of Brooklyn Center has been given notice of a proposed change in zoning classification from residential "A" to RB -3 that property described as "The east 1/4 of the northeast 1/4 of the north- west 1/4 of Section 33, Township 119, Range 21, Hennepin County, Minnesota; and WHEREAS the subject property abuts the west Village limits of a u V J p p Y g the Village of Brooklyn Center, and WHEREAS, the proposed rezoning can have a material effect upon the predominantly single family neighborhood within Brooklyn Center, and WHEREAS, the subject property is transversed by a northerly flowing drainage ditch which discharges into Shingle Creek; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center as follows: In the event that the Village of Brooklyn Park intends to approve the proposed rezoning, it is requested that appropriate safeguards be taken to adequately protect the abutting single family dwellings within the Village of Brooklyn Center, and to assure that traffic generated as a consequence of the rezoning not be allowed to transverse through the predominantly residential neighborhood in Brooklyn Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED to request that appropriate consideration be given to the preservation of the existing drainage facility extending from F.A.I. 94 to Shingle Creek. Tanuary 10, 1966 Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, John Leary, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
