HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-014 CCR Member Theodore Willard introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -14 RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING GUIDELINES FOR THE ACTIVITIES OF THE PARK AND RECREATION ADVISORY COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Ordinance establishing the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission provides generally for reports to be submitted to the Village Council, and i WHEREAS, the Council desires the Commission to formulate and recommend for adoption certain general policies for the future operation of the Village Park and Recreation program; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the Park and Recreation Advisory Commission be requested to formulate and recommend to the Village Council policy statements pertaining to the following subjects: a. Allocation of recreation appropriations, both by age group and geographic area within the Village. b. Long range and short range objectives for both the park and recreation programs. c. Rate of park acquisition and development, and specific criteria therefor. d. The number and location of various types of park facilities (i.e. tot lots, play fields, etc.) BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Commission be directed to hold public hearings on the above mentioned subject to insure that the requested recommendations reflect a general consensus of community attitudes. January 17, 1966 Vi Date Mayor ATTEST: Pei-, V Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, john Leary, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
