HomeMy WebLinkAbout1966-101 CCR Member john Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 66 -101 I RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING SIGNING OF AGREEMENT ESTABLISHING A METROPOLITAN TRANSIT COMMISSION AND AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION THEREIN WHEREAS, there is no present organization which can deal effectively with the mass transit problems of the seven county metropolitan area; and WHEREAS, other municipalities have indicated an interest in establishing a temporary transit authority to serve until statutory pro I visions can be made; d and A e WHEREAS, the participation of a majority of municipalities p p J Y in the p Twin Cities area is desirable for the organization of a temporary transit authority under the provisions of the joint Powers Act; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center that the Mayor and Village Clerk be authorized Y g to execute a joint and Cooperative Agreement establishing a Metropolitan 9 g p Transit Agreement as amended, and that the Village of Brooklyn Center participate in said Metropolitan Transit Commission. May 2, 1966 i Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Philip Cohen, Earl Simons, john Leary, Howard Heck and Theodore Willard, and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
