its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 65 -2.25
RESOLUTION TABLING APPLICATION 65092 AND
PROVIDING GUIDANCE TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION
REGARDING FURTHER CONSIDERATION OF THE SUBTECT
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has received application No. 65092
from Li'1 General Stores, Inc. requesting the rezoning of Parcel 9020, Northgate
Addition from R -1 to B -1; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended that the request
for rezoning be denied because the land uses permitted in a B -1 zone are in con
flict with the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan for the area in which the
parcel is located; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission will, in the near future, conduct
public hearings on the Comprehensive Plan and proposed zoning ordinance which
will include a review of the land uses proposed for the subject area; and
WHEREAS, such a comprehensive review of the proposal for the entire
area is more desirable and satisfactory than considering a single parcel in a
piecemeal fashion, without regard to the surrounding area;
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village
of Brooklyn Center as follows:
1. Application 65092 submitted by Li'1 General Stores, Inc.
is hereby tabled.
2. The Planning Commission shall consider the application and
its ramifications during the course of the public hearings on the
zoning ordinance, and in regard to the official Village land use plan.
