HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-225 CCR Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -2.25 RESOLUTION TABLING APPLICATION 65092 AND PROVIDING GUIDANCE TO THE PLANNING COMMISSION REGARDING FURTHER CONSIDERATION OF THE SUBTECT WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has received application No. 65092 from Li'1 General Stores, Inc. requesting the rezoning of Parcel 9020, Northgate Addition from R -1 to B -1; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission has recommended that the request for rezoning be denied because the land uses permitted in a B -1 zone are in con flict with the objectives of the Comprehensive Plan for the area in which the parcel is located; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission will, in the near future, conduct public hearings on the Comprehensive Plan and proposed zoning ordinance which will include a review of the land uses proposed for the subject area; and WHEREAS, such a comprehensive review of the proposal for the entire area is more desirable and satisfactory than considering a single parcel in a piecemeal fashion, without regard to the surrounding area; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. Application 65092 submitted by Li'1 General Stores, Inc. is hereby tabled. 2. The Planning Commission shall consider the application and its ramifications during the course of the public hearings on the zoning ordinance, and in regard to the official Village land use plan.
