HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-019 CCR Member Tohn Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -19 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A DELAY IN THE START OF CONSTRUCTION ON THE BROOKLYN CENTER LIBRARY WHEREAS, the contractor awarded the contract for general construction of the Brooklyn Center Public Library has requested a deferral of the starting date of construction from March 1, 1965 to April 1, 1965 due to inclement weather and the depth of frost penetration; and WHEREAS, the architect retained to design the library and oversee its construction feels that such a deferral will not affect the anticipated completion date of mid September; and WHEREAS, the architect and other contractors associated with the construction of the Library are in agreement with the proposed deferral: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. The contractor for the general construction of the Library, Dean L. Witcher, is authorized to defer the start of construction on said Library until April 1, 1965, provided the construction time of 200 days specified in the contract for general construction is computed from March 1, 1965. 2. A copy of this resolution shall be certified to the firm of Cerny Associates and Dean L. Witcher. February 23, 1965 Date Mayor ATTEST: &J Ct Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, john Leary and Earl Simons and the following voted against the same: None whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
