HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-028 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -28 RESOLUTION ON DILAPIDATED BUILDING BILL (S.F. #642) WHEREAS, the Village of Brooklyn Center is concerned with the problems of existing dilapidated buildings and structures which constitute a fire, safety or health hazard and excavations which are dangerous or attractive nuisances in said village; and WHEREAS, there is a lack of statutory authority for the Village of Brooklyn Center to order the destruction, repair or removal of dilapidated buildings or structures, and the filling or protection of dangerous excavations, and WHEREAS, there is no express statutory authority to specially assess the cost of demolition, destruction, repair or removal of dilapidated buildings or structures, and the filling or protection of dangerous excavations when done by the Village of Brooklyn Center or its agents; NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Village of Brooklyn Center endorses Senate File #642 relating to dilapidated buildings and dangerous excavations and urges passage of said bill by the 1965 Legislature.
