HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-035 CCR Member ohn Lear introduced the following J v g resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -35 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF HOUSE FILE NUMBER 654 PERTAINING TO THE MANDATORY PAYMENT FOR ACCRUED SICK LEAVE AND VACATION LEAVE UPON TERMINATION OF EMPLOYMENT WHEREAS, there has been introduced in the House of Representatives of the Legislature of the State of Minnesota a bill for an act designated House File Number 654 which proposes that payment for accrued sick leave and vacation leave upon the termination of an employees service be made mandatory; and WHEREAS, although many of the benefits proposed by the bill are already granted by the Village of Brooklyn Center, the adoption of the bill would seriously limit the capability of the Village to negotiate with representatives of, if not destroy, employee organizations as required by statute. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center as follows: 1. That the adoption of House File Number 654 is actively opposed, and all parties are called upon to work against its adoption. 2. That copies of this resolution be certified to the Governor of the State of Minnesota, the Chairman of the House Committee on Labor- Management Relations, and to the Senator and Representatives of he Thi ieth Legislative District. March 15, 1965 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, John Leary, Phil Cohen and Earl Simons, and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
