HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-044 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -44 RESOLUTION DENYING A REQUEST FOR VARIANCE FROM REQUIREMENTS OF BUILDING CODE WHEREAS, Automotive Sales Service, Inc. has requested a variance from the requirements of the building code which require the installation of an automatic fire extinguishing system; and WHEREAS, the Village Council has reviewed this matter and heard reports from the Village Administrator; and WHEREAS, it has been reported that the primary reasons for the, installation of automatic fire extinguishing systems are: 1. The minimizing of damage to a large structure so that the business firm is not completely put out of business. 2. To restrict the size of the fire so the fire department has an opportunity to enter the building and fight the fire. 3. Permit a reduction in the cost of construction of required fire separations between occupancy uses within the building. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of Brooklyn Center deny the request of Automotive Sales and Service, Inc. for a variance to the provisions of the uniform building code requiring automatic fire extinguishing systems. April 5, 1965 Date v Mayor ATTES C lerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Phil Cohen and upon vote being taken thereon the follow ing voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, John Leary, Phil Cohen and Earl Simons, and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
