HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-064 CCR Member John Leary introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -64 RESOLUTION REQUESTING A TRAFFIC SURVEY BY THE MINNESOTA DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS WHEREAS, the safety of the vehicular traffic at the intersection of Highway #100 and France Avenue is becoming of increasing concern in the Village of Brooklyn Center; and WHEREAS, it is understood that the Minnesota Department of Highways proposes to continue the upgrading of the design of Highway #100; and WHEREAS, the Village Council of Brooklyn Center realizes that the Highway Department's budget consideration will not permit the immed- iate construction of a grade separation and interchange. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that they request that the Department of Highways conduct the necessary traffic surveys to examine warrants for the early installation of traffic signals at the intersection of Highway #100 and France Avenue; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution, together with such information as the Brooklyn Center Police Department may have regarding the number and severity of accidents at this location, be transmitted to Mr, George Welch, District Engineer of the Minnesota Department of Highways. May 3, 1965 Date Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Howard Heck and upon vote being taken thereon the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Howard Heck, Phil Cohen, John Leary and Earl Simons, and the following voted against the same: None; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
