RESOLUTION NO. 65 -65
RESOLUTION ADVISING THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
VILLAGE COUNCIL'S CONSIDERATION AND DETERMINATION
REGARDING TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTION OF 71st
AVENUE OSSEO ROAD
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission did adopt at their meeting
of March 18, 1965 a resolution calling to the Council's attention their
concern regarding the location of the proposed signals; and
WHEREAS, the Village Council, the Village Administrative
Staff, Representatives of the Osseo School District Administration
and interested citizens had recently prevailed upon the Department
of Highways to let immediate contracts for the installation of the
signals at 71st Avenue; and
WHEREAS, such contracts have actually been let; and
WHEREAS, the present design of the roadway of Osseo Road
and Noble Avenue and 71st Avenue cannot be changed in the immediate
future; and
WHEREAS, to make any request of the Minnesota Department
of Highways to change the installation of these signals would undoubted-
ly cause an extended delay in the installation of the signals.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council
of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota believes that it is the
wish of the people in the immediate neighborhood that the present plan
be completed and that it is not practical or feasible to request a change
at this time.
