HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-066 CCR Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -66 RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ADOPTION OF SENATE FILE #720 AND HOUSE FILE #806 AND SUPPORTING THE ADOPTION OF HOUSE FILE #1449 WHEREAS, the Village Council of Brooklyn Center has reviewed the provisions of proposed legislation which would modify the require ments for approval of special laws affecting a number of local govern- ment units; and WHEREAS, the Village Council believes that the elimination of local approval as proposed by Senate File #720 and House File #806 is a serious infringement upon the principles of home rule; and WHEREAS, the Village Council recognizes that to be able to effectuate certain necessary and controversial subjects of legislation it may be necessary to modify the requirements for the approval of special laws affecting a number of local governmental units. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota urges the adoption of House File #1449 and the rejection of Senate File #720 and House File #806. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this resolution be forwarded to the members of the Hennepin. County Delegation and to the Chairman of the House Committee on Civil Administration.
