HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-104 CCR Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -104 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED WATER IMPROVEMENT NO'S. 1965 -9 AND 1965 -12 AND PROVID- ING FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF UNASSESSED COST OF WATER IMPROVEMENT NO. 1960 -1 I i WHEREAS, it is proposed that there be constructed improvements consisting of the following: 1965 -9 Water Main in Brookview Drive from Ericon Drive to Hillsview Road and Hillsview Road from Brookview Drive to Lilac Drive. Water Main in James and Irving Avenues from 53rd Avenue to 55th Avenue and 53rd Avenue from James to Irving Avenues. WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has made a preliminary report advising that said proposed improvements are feasible and that they can be constructed at an estimated cost of $9, 659.00 and $22, 424. 00 respectively. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The Council proposes to proceed under authority granted by Chapter 398, Laws of Minnesota, 1953, as amended. 2. A public hearing on the proposed improvement shall be held at the Village Hall in the Village on Monday, the 12th day of July, 1965, at 8 :00 and 9 :15 o'clock P.M. respectively, and the Clerk shall publish notice of the time and place of hearings by two weeks publication in the official newspaper of the Village. 3. The area proposed to be assessed for said improvements is as follows: ALL LOTS AND PARCELS ABUTTING THE ABOVE NAMED STREETS WHERE THE PROJECT IS TO BE CONSTRUCTED. 4. These proposed improvements shall be designated Water Improve- ment. No's. 1965 -9 and 1965 -12. RESOLUTION NO, 65 -104 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that it is hereby determined that the prop- erties which will be served by Water Improvement No's. 1965 -9 and 1965 -12 when said improvement is completed, will also be benefited by Water Improve- ment No. 1960 -1, which properties were not initially assessed for Water Improvement No. 1960.1; and that as to expenditures made for Water Improve- ment No. 1960 -1 from general ad valorem tax levies or other sources and funds in addition to special assessments heretofore made for said improvements the Village shall be reimbursed therefor by adding $3,570.77 and $11,385.64, respectively, to the assessments to be levied for Water Improvement No's. 1965 -9 and 1965 -12 and the Village Clerk shall cause notice that such addi- tional amounts will be assessed to be included in the notice of hearing in the making of said Water Improvement No's 1965 -9 and 1965 -12. ATTEST: f4 '4� Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member John Leary and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen, John Leary, Earl Simons and Howard Heck, and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
