HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-107 CCR Member Phil Cohen introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -107 RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR PUBLIC HEARING ON PROPOSED WATER IMPROVEMENT NO'S. 1965 -15, 19, AND 20 AND PROVIDING FOR REIMBURSEMENT OF UNASSESSED COST OF WATER IMPROVEMENT NO. 1960 -1 WHEREAS, it is proposed that there be constructed improvements consisting of the following: 1965 -15 Water main in Halifax Avenue from approximately 320 feet south of 59th Avenue northward to Halifax Place. 1965 -19 Water main in Logan Avenue from 53rd Avenue to 55th Avenue, Knox Avenue from 53rd Avenue to 55th Avenue, and 53rd Avenue from Knox Avenue to Logan Avenue. 1965 -20 Water main in Knox Avenue from 55th Avenue to 59th Avenue WHEREAS, the Village Engineer has made a preliminary report advising that said proposed improvements are feasible and that they can be constructed at an estimated cost of $10,592.00, $22,424.00, and $21,311.00 respectively. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, as follows: 1. The Council proposes to proceed under authority granted by Chapter 398, Laws of Minnesota, 1953, as amended. 2. A public hearing on the proposed improvement shall be held at the Village Hall in the Village on Monday, the 19th day of July, 1965, at 8 :15, 8 :30 and 8 :45 o'clock P.M. respectively and the Clerk shall publish notice of the time and place of hearing by two weeks publication in the official newspaper of the Village. 3. The area proposed to be assessed for said improvement is as follows: ALL LOTS AND PARCELS ABUTTING THE ABOVE NAMED STREETS WHERE THE PROJECT IS TO BE CONSTRUCTED. 4. This proposed improvement shall be designated Water Improvement No. 1965 -15, 19, and 20. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that it is hereby determined that the properties which will be served by Water Improvement No. 1965 -15, 19, and 20 when said improvement is completed, will also be benefitted by Water Improvement No. 1960 -1, which propertieswere not initially assessed RESOLUTION NO. 65 -107 for Water Improvement No. 1960 -1; and that as to expenditures made for Water Improvement No. 1960 -1 from general ad valorem tax levies or other sources and funds in addition to special assessments heretofore made for said improvement the Village shall be reimbursed therefor by adding $2,147.81, $12,365.64, and $7,598.88 respectively to the assess ments to be levied for Water Improvement No. 1965 -15, 19, and 20 and the Village Clerk shall cause notice that such additional amounts will be assessed to be included in the notice of hearing in the making of said Water Improvement No. 1965 -15, 19 and 20. June 28, 1965 Date J Mayor ATTEST: Clerk The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Earl Simons and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Gordon Erickson, Phil Cohen, John Leary, Earl Simons and Howard Heck, and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
