HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-117 CCR r Member Howard Heck introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 65 -117 RESOLUTION REGARDING LIQUOR CONTROL LEGISLATION WHEREAS, the Village of Brooklyn Center is concerned with the problem of local liquor control; and WHEREAS, State law does not give a municipality having a popula- tion of 10, 000 or over the right to decide its own liquor operations; and WHEREAS, State law now prohibits certain municipalities, regard less of size, from deciding what form or combination of liquor operations it may have; and WHEREAS, this issue has now become a statewide problem. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Village Council of the Village of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota respectfully requests that the League of Minnesota Municipalities General Legislation Committee study this matter with a view toward recommending corrective legislation to the 1967 Minnesota State Legislature.
