Strat Priorities CC 12.8.25 Page 2 of 9 Executing on Strategic Priorities – 2025 Review Overview 2 •Review the work undertaken 2025 •Outline 2026 process •Looking beyond 2026 Page 3 of 9 Background 3 •The organization needed a way to track and streamline high- priority projects •The goal was to begin setting up a system to execute and track progress – focus on progress •64 projects were identified and introductory system developed •Presented to City Council in July on this effort •Tonight is a review of 2025 and look into where we are headed Background 4 •Projects were slotted into priority areas outlined in the strategic plan •Priority areas include: ƒEnhance Economic Growth ƒDevelop Financial Stability ƒIncrease Safety for Community & Employees ƒImprove Employee Engagement ƒImprove Communication Page 4 of 9 Review of 2025 5 Current Status of 2025 Projects 6 Page 5 of 9 Current Status of 2025 Projects 7 2025 Highlights 8 •Enhance Economic Growth ƒDeveloped the groundwork for an economic growth plan •Develop Financial Stability ƒDelivered regular financial reports to City Council •Increase Safety for Community & Employees ƒBuilt better digital forensics capabilities in BCPD ƒDeveloped & implemented crime reduction plan ƒRe-established staff safety committee: updated emergency plans, camera security, and phone lines •Improve Employee Engagement ƒRevamped employee onboarding ƒHeld individual conversations with departments on pay analysis and 2026 budget updates •Improve Communication ƒBuilt intranet site to improve access to news and documents for staff ƒBegan monthly City Manager update meeting open to all staff Page 6 of 9 2026 and beyond 9 2026 Process 10 •We will continue a similar process for 2026 •Some known projects will slide from 2025 into next year: •Updated standard operating guidelines in BCFD •5-year financial plan •Exploration of options regarding the Opportunity Site •Safety Committee goals •Minor updates to city website (buried/outdated information) Page 7 of 9 Where we are headed 11 •The goals for all of this work are: ƒExecute at a high level through focus, visibility, and ownership ƒBegin tracking progress and outcomes ƒDevelop an annual process that identifies and aligns strategic priorities ƒHave those priorities inform annual budget discussions Where we are headed 12 2025 Began an intentional process Track activities 2026 Begin annual strategic goal setting Building alignment and outputs 2027 Get on a schedule to have strategic goals inform budget conversation Co-create strategies and focus on outcomes STRATEGY APPROACH Page 8 of 9 Questions 13 Page 9 of 9
