HomeMy WebLinkAbout2005-013 EDARMavo Systems, Inc. $128,750 Vruno and Williams, Inc. $143,070 EnviroTech Remediation Services, Inc. $145,000 Commissioner Kathleen Carmody introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR ASBESTOS ABATEMENT AND HAZARDOUS MATERIAL REMOVAL AT EDA OWNED RETAIL CENTER LOCATED AT 57 LOGAN AVENUES NORTH WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for asbestos abatement and hazardous materials removal at the EDA owned retail center located at 57 and Logan Avenues North, bids were received, opened, and tabulated on August 16, 2005. Said bids were as follows: August 22, 2005 Date EDA RESOLUTION NO. 2005 -13 Bidder Bid Amount WHEREAS, it appears that Mavo Systems, Inc. of Fridley, Minnesota is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota that: 1. The EDA Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Mavo Systems, Inc. of Fridley, Minnesota in the name of the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center for Asbestos Abatement and Hazardous Materials removal at the EDA owned retail center located at 57 and Logan Avenues North, according to the asbestos abatement and hazardous material removal specifications 57 and Logan Avenues North retail center prepared by Legend Technical Services, Inc. and on file in the City's Community Development Department. 2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposit of the successful bidder and the next lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract is signed. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by commissioner Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay Lasman, Diane Niesen, and Mary O'Connor; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
