HomeMy WebLinkAbout2006-003 EDAR1 1 1 its adoption: Commissioner Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved EDA RESOLUTION NO. 2006 -1 RESOLUTION DIRECTING SOLICITATION OF DEVELOPMENT PROPOSALS FOR THE FORMER NORTHBROOK/HMONG AMERICAN SHOPPING CENTER SITE WHEREAS, the Opportunity Site Task Force has studied the Northbrook/Hmong American Shopping Center Site; and WHEREAS, the Opportunity Site Task Force has conducted an Open House soliciting public input on proposed development standards for the redevelopment of the Northbrook/Hmong American Shopping Center Site; and WHEREAS, the Opportunity Site Task Force has made its report to the City Council of the City of Brooklyn Center with its recommendations for development standards and guidelines for the Northbrook/Hmong American Shopping Center Site; and WHEREAS, a Request for Proposals has been developed that solicit development proposals for the Northbrook/Hmong American Shopping Center Site that would be evaluated based on the standards and guidelines recommended by the Opportunity Site Task Force. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, that the development standards and guidelines recommended by the Opportunity Site Task Force for the Northbrook/Hmong American Shopping Center Site be and hereby are approved by the Economic Development Authority. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the staff of the Economic Development Authority be and hereby are directed to solicit proposals for the redevelopment of the Northbrook/Hmong American Shopping Center Site consistent with the recommendations made by the Task Force. February 27, 2006 Date nt Presi The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by commissioner Kathleen Carmody and upon vote being taken thereon, the following_ oted in favor thereof: Myra Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Kay asman, and Diane Niesen; and the following voted against the same: Mary 0' Connor; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
