This Committee, after careful study of the presented, recommend, the establishment of an Industrial Development Commission an the pillage of Brooklyn Center. The Committee believes the wording "Industrial Development Commission" would be more appropriate and less mr.fusing than the title, "l w.dustr ial Commission". The in.forma•t on. used to reach this conclusion. was based on prescrAations by Mr. Tom Hodne, Consulting Plai~~zea', and Iilfr. Martin Poland, Northern States Power Representative, and irons research performed by the Committee, can successes and failures e, periericed by other villages and cities Mr. FIodne's prezentatiQn showed chat Brooklyn. Our research disclosed that the villages and cities that were the most successful ir, attracting Industry were those that had active organizations pro notin?g Industrial development. Infoi-mation of value to industries in the c^a:rea; cost, location and availa-bi.lity of :gal estate, access 'to transportation 9acilities; type of construction and industry invited; and available municipal seivices and shopping facilities. This type of information about Brooklyn Center should be utilized by industrial realtors, metropolitan and state agencies, public utilities and others who would receive inquiries by industries interested in this area. The Industrial DeveloPment Com.nission also should act in a public relations capacity to explain the advantages of a properly planned industrial program to the residerrts of *Brooklyn Center, An Atmosphere of acceptance of industry by the citizens of Brooklyn Center will further promote industrial development. The Industrial Commission Study Committee has considered the ?geed !or a suitable ordinance to establish ail "Industrial Developm-ent Csomi fission" . The car-mmittee recommends the adoption of the attached proposed ordina rice which is an adaptation of the °Ioomingto.ri ordinanc . Changes have been wade which were recommended by member of the Bloom!ngton Industrial Commission.
