The November 6th meeting 6f the Industrial Development Commission
was called to order by Chairman, Robert Oslund at 8:14 P. M.
Roil Call: Dallas Lawrence, Ernee McArthur, Charles Nelson, Robert
Oslund, Robert Grosshans, Earl Simons, Harlan Sween, Gerald Gerber,
WWne Lubrecht, Charles Gerber.
Motion by Gerald Gerber, and seconded by Charles Gerber to approve
the minutes of the October 2nd meeting as recorded. Motion carried.
Ernee McArthur, Chairman of the Industrial Climate 'Au0"0?6mmittee,
presented the recommended questionnaire and reviewed the organization
of the study with the members. The following schedule was accepted.
1. That all businesses in Brooklyn Center would be visited.
2. That all the calls will be made in person.
3. Members present indicated whether or not they could make calls
during the day, members not present will be contacted as to their
preference.
4. The time schedule is:
a. 11/15/62 . . . questionnaires to members.
b. 12/4/62 . . . (our next regular meeting) a progress
report by each member.
c. 12/15/62 . Completion date
d. January . Letter to businessmen thanking them for
their participation.
5. A business card will be printed and given to members at the time
they are given the questionnaires, for leaving with the businessmen
after they have visited with them.
6. Preliminary report to the membership at our January meeting by the
Committee.
Motion by Dallas Lawrence, and seconded by Gerald Gerber to accept
the report of the Industrial Climate Study Committee. Motion carried.
Chairman, Robert Oslund, read a letter and presented information
received from the Minneapolis Star and Tribune in regard to industrial
development in Minnesota.
Dallas Lawrence presented the latest information in regard to the
automobile agency, and the Dairy Queen business establishing in Brooklyn
Center. It was decided Dallas Lawrence, and the members of his CONTACT
COMMITTEE would meet with the automobile agency people for the purpose
of further discussion on their moving to Brooklyn Center.

Mr. Lee reported on the contact made with the University in regard
to someone from the University appearing before this Commission. They
chose not to appear before this commission at this time.
Motion by Charles Nelson, and seconded by Harlan Sween that the
meeting be adjourned. The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 P. M.
The next regular meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 4th.

The following appeared in the Brooklyn Center Press 11/8/62
"Biggest growing subur in the Twin City area is the city of Bloomington,
according to a report of the Federal Reserve Bank.
During the first nine months of this year Bloomington showed building
permits valuation of $18 million, up neatly a million over the same time
last year.
