HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-024 EDARCommissioner Debra Hilstrom moved its adoption: EDA RESOLUTION NO, 2000 introduced the following resolution and RESOLUTION APPROVING DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE BROOKLYN CENTER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY AND EAGLE CREST NORTHWEST INC. FOR THE SALE OF THE EDA OWNED PROPERTY LOCATED AT 66 AVENUE NORTH AND WILLOW LANE AND AUTHORIZING EDA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THE DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WHEREAS, EDA Resolution No. 2000 -18 authorized the sale of EDA owned property located at 66 Avenue North and Willow Lane in Brooklyn Center legally described in Exhibit A attached to this resolution (the Property); and WHEREAS, EDA ResoluiioriNo. 2000 -18 authorized'tl a EDA Executive Director to negotiate a purchase agreement for the sale of the property to Eagle Crest Northwest Inc.; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority (EDA) opened the public hearing on the terms and conditions of the sale of the property to Eagle Crest Northwest Inc. on November 13, 2000 and continued the public hearing to the December 11, 2000 EDA meeting to allow staff additional time to negotiate a Development Agreement; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authorityre- opened and concluded the public hearing on the terms and conditions of the sale of the property to Eagle Crest Northwest Inc. at its December 11, 2000 EDA meeting; and WHEREAS, after conducting a public hearing, the EDA considered the terms and conditions of the proposed sale of the property to Eagle Crest Northwest Inc. as contained in the Development Agreement prepared for the sale of the property; and WHEREAS, the EDA reviewed the preliminary plans for the single family detached townhomes, which include elevations of the townhouse units and building material specification list which are included with and made a part of this resolution; and WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center EDA has determined it is in the best interest of the Economic Development Authority to sell the property to Eagle Crest Northwest Inc. pursuant to the terms and conditions of the Development Agreement reviewed at their December 11, 2000 meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota as follows: 1. The preliminary plans which are included and made a part of this resolution, are approved with the exception of the material specifications for the windows and the Executive Director is hereby authorized to approve the 1 Resolution No. 2000 24 December 11, 2000 Date material specifications for the windows as part of the preliminary plans for the single family detached townhouse units. 2. The EDA Executive Director is hereby authorized and directed to execute the Development Agreement between the Economic Development Authority and Eagle Crest Northwest Inc. for the sale of the EDA owned property (the Property). The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by commissioner Robert Peppe and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none; whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
