HomeMy WebLinkAbout1998-008 EDAR1 its adoption: May 26, 1998 Date Commissioner Kay Lasman introduced the following resolution and moved EDA RESOLUTION NO. 98 -08 RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE LAND AT 6717 -6737 HUMBOLDT AVENUE NORTH TO THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER FOR USE AS THE SITE OF THE POLICE STATION WHEREAS, the Economic Development Authority acquired five parcels of land at 6717 -6737 Humboldt Avenue North for the purpose of removing blighted properties; and WHEREAS, the cost of these acquisitions and building demolitions totaled $356,040.35; and WHEREAS, this site has been selected for the construction of the new Police Station, which purpose is consistent with the purpose of removing blight and blighting influences from the neighborhood, is in the best interests of the public, and will further the aims and purposes of Minnesota Statutes, Sections 469.090 to 469.108; and WHEREAS, the Authority is authorized to convey land to the City by Minnesota Statutes, Section 465.035 and 471.64. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center to sell the land at 6717 -6737 Humboldt Avenue North to the City of Brooklyn Center for the amount of $356,040.35. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the President and Secretary are authorized and directed to take such steps and execute such documents as are necessary to effect the conveyance. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by commissioner Kathleen Carmody and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Kathleen Carmody, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
