HomeMy WebLinkAbout1999-018 EDARits adoption: Member Robert Peppe introduced the following resolution and moved EDA RESOLUTION NO. 99 18 RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER TO LEVY TAXES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE BROOKLYN CENTER ECONOMIC E LSP T H•; T •R T 4 2010 WHEREAS, Minnesota statutes currently require certification to the Hennepin County Auditor of a preliminary tax levy on or before September 15, 1999 and a final tax levy on or before December 28, 1999. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Economic Development Authority of the City of Brooklyn Center as follows: Section 1: That the Economic Development Authority requests the City of Brooklyn Center to levy a property tax for the benefit of the Economic Development Authority, for the year 2000 at a rate not to exceed 0.01813 of taxable property, real and personal, situated within the corporate limits of the City of Brooklyn Center, Minnesota and not exempted by the Constitution of the State of Minnesota or the valid laws of the State of Minnesota, for the purpose of maintaining the E.D.A. Special Operating Fund pursuant to MSA Chapter 469.107, Subdivision 1. Section 2: The City of Brooklyn Center will include the Economic Development Authority's tax levy for the year 2000 in the City of Brooklyn Center's certification to the Hennepin County Auditor of a preliminary tax levy on or before September 15, 1999 and a final tax levy to on or before December 28, 1999. September 13, 1999 Date President The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Kay Lasman and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Debra Hilstrom, Kay Lasman, Ed Nelson, and Robert Peppe; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
