HomeMy WebLinkAbout1995-020 EDAR1 1 1 Commissioner Barb Kalligher and moved its adoption: EDA RESOLUTION NO. 95 -20 introduced the following resolution RESOLUTION APPROVING A REQUEST FOR DEVELOPMENT PROPOSAL IN THE AREA OF 69TH AVENUE NORTH AND BROOKLYN BOULEVARD AND AUTHORIZING THE ADVERTISING OF THE SAME WHEREAS, the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center (EDA) desires to redevelop certain parcels of land in and around the area of 69th Avenue and Brooklyn Boulevard; and WHEREAS, Hennepin County has scheduled a road widening and reconstruction project for Brooklyn Boulevard from 65th to 71st Avenue for 1997; and WHEREAS, the City of Brooklyn Center's Brooklyn Boulevard Amenities Study identifies the area of 69th Avenue and Brooklyn Boulevard as a priority redevelopment area; and WHEREAS, the EDA has retained the firm of BRW to develop a draft Request for Development Proposals (RFP); and WHEREAS, the RFP has been reviewed by the Planning Commission and public comment was solicited on the plan and has been forwarded to the EDA with the commission's endorsement. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Economic Development Authority in and for the City of Brooklyn Center that the Request for Development Proposals is approved and staff is directed to solicit development proposals from qualified developers for the EDA's consideration. July 10, 1995 Date The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by commissioner Debra Hilstrom and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: Myrna Kragness, Barb Kalligher, Kristen Mann, Debra Hilstrom, and Kathleen Carmody; and the following voted against the same: none, whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
