ROLL CALL; Marshall Jacobson, Harry Johnson, Frank Kampmeyer, Dallas Lawrence, William Legler, Wane Lubrechf, Ernee McArfhur, Roger Machaneler, Robert Oslund, Earl Rydberg, Earl Simons • It was necessary that Edwin Burt be absenZthis evening, so formal consent was 96ven. Motion by Dallas Lawrence, and seconded by Marshall Jacobson to approve the minutes of the October ist meeting as recorded. Motion carried. Earl Simons discussed the Tax Base Study, and indicated more time is needed to complete the report. The prospectus lay-ouf was presented by committee chairman, Ear I Rydberg. The recommended folder's pockets could be used to enclose additional materi'ai as the brochure required up-dating. The brochure shown was in #=*w two colors and it was estimated to cost 19/ a copy, In the quasi ty of 5,000. The brochure included a sketch of the Urban Community Plan. It was indicated it would be desirable to be able to include the roads (as close as possible) in the drawing; therefore enabling the brochure to live longer. It was noted that the title of the brochure "BROOKLYN "CENTER" of INDUSTRY . CF HONE . OF RECREATION" might be a recommended slogan to be placed on villa ge stationery. Dallas Lawrence suggested Earl Rydberg appear before the businessmen's group (Chamber of Commerce) and present the preliminary draft ee of the proposed brochure. It was called to the members attention that the COWUNITY FACT SURVEY, NSP, would be sufficiently completed by the end of the week to be reviewed with the Commission. It was indicated it would have a picture cover Instead of the usual plainer- color. (300-400 copies would be available) Motion by Dallas Lawrence, and seconded by Marshal I Jacobson that the Brochure Committee review with Northern States Power the Community Fact. Survey. Motion carried. 0 -2- A report on the 7th Annual Industrial Clinic was given by Ernee McArthur. Copies of the report were distributed to the members. If was indicated in the report that this informative clinic would have been beneficial to every Industrial Development Commission member, and that exposure to some of the dynamic business leaders in these communities was rewarding and some of their enthusiast infectious. The report was summarized in the listing of several prmvacative questions for additional thought and consideration. Bring your recommendations on the questions to the next meeting. Copies of the Library Study Commission report were distributed to the Commission members. Resolution made by Frank Kampmeyer that the secretary convey to the Library Study Commission our appreciation for a job well done. Motion by Dallas Lawrence, and seconded by Harry Johnson that Commission members resigning or terra exp~l,ing, be requested to return their material to the Commission. Notion carried. The Contact Committee report was given by Art Lee and Dallas Lawrence. Liason Committee Chairman, Robert Oslund, reported on the Planning Commission meeting in regard to the Neighborhood Organization for the Comprehensive Planning Program, the Preliminary Population Report and the sign ordinance report. Members were asked to submit to Nt. Murphy, Secretary of the Planning Commission, five names of people willing and qualified to partic iate in the Neighborhood Organization Plan. Notion by William Legier, and seconded by Wayne Lubrecht that the meeting be adjourned. The meeting was adjourned at 10;30 P.M. The next regular meeting wi 1 I be held on December 3rd at 8:00 P.M.
