Commissioner Jerry Pedlar introduced the following
resolution and moved its adoption:
EDA RESOLUTION NO. 91 -2
RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING REGARDING THE
SALE OF LAND BY THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY IN
AND FOR. THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER AND AUTHORIZING THE
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO NEGOTIATE A PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR
THE SALE OF SUCH LAND
WHEREAS, pursuant to EDA Resolution 91 -13, the Brooklyn
Center Economic Development Authority authorized the EDA Executive
Director to seek offers to purchase the property located at 5538
Colfax Avenue North; and
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.029,
Subdivision 2, requires a public hearing for the sale of land by
the Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority; and
WHEREAS, the Brooklyn Center Economic Development
Authority has received an offer from Mr. David V. Brandvold for
the purchase of the EDA -owned land at 5538 Colfax Avenue North
described by the following legal description:
The North 1/2 of the North 1/2 of the West
1/2 of Lot 45, Garcelon's Addition to
Minneapolis, according to the plat thereof on
file and of record in the office of the
County Recorder in and for the County of
Hennepin, State of Minnesota.
WHEREAS, the EDA staff has reviewed the proposal and has
recommended the EDA Board hold a public hearing on the offer and
authorize the EDA Executive Director to negotiate a purchase
agreement with Mr. Brandvold for the purchase of the property.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Brooklyn Center
Economic Development Authority has determined it is in the best
interest of the City of Brooklyn Center to authorize the EDA
Executive Director to negotiate a purchase agreement for the sale
of the property to Mr. David V. Brandvold, the terms of such
purchase agreement to be subject to the further review and
acceptance by the EDA.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Brooklyn Center Economic
Development Authority hereby authorizes a public hearing to be
held on September 23, 1991, at 8:30 p.m. in the Brooklyn Center
City Hall Council Chambers regarding the proposed sale of property
described herein to Mr. David V. Brandvold and the provisions of
such sale.
EDA Resolution No. 91 -22
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the Executive Director is hereby
authorized and directed to publish the attached notice of public
hearing in the City's legal newspaper on September 5, 1991.

The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly
seconded by Commissioner Celia Scott and upon vote being
taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof:
Todd Paulson, Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen;
and the following voted against the same: none,
whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted.
