HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988 01-25 EDAM Special Session1 MINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA SPECIAL SESSION JANUARY 25, 1988 CITY HALL CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority met in special was called to order by President Dean Nyquist at 9 :31 p.m. ROLL CALL President Dean Nyquist, Commissioners Gene Lhotka, Celia Rich Theis. Also present were EDA Director Gerald Planning and Inspection Ron Warren, Director Attorney Charlie LeFevere, Administrative Aid Patti Page. Personnel of Public Coordinator session and Scott, Bill Hawes, and Splinter, Director of Works Sy Knapp, City Geralyn Barone, and APPROVAL OF MINUTES JANUARY 11, 1988 There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Theis to approve the minutes of the January 11, 1988, Economic Development Authority meeting as submitted. The motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTIONS The City Manager presented a Resolution Approving Two (2) Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority Grants. Commissioner Hawes stated he was happy with the additional information that was presented for this item. He stated however, he is concerned with the possibility of the grant system being abused. The EDA Director stated he and the HRA Coordinator would meet with Commissioner Hawes to discuss his concerns. RESOLUTION NO. 88 -04 Member Bill Hawes introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION APPROVING TWO (2) BROOKLYN CENTER ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY GRANTS The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Gene Lhotka, and the motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION NO. 88 -05 Member Gene Lhotka introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION ACCEPTING PROPOSAL AND APPROVING AGREEMENT FOR SURVEYING AND PLATTING SERVICES FOR THE EARLE BROWN FARM SITE The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by member Bill Hawes, and the motion passed unanimously. 1 -25 -88 -1- ADJOURNMENT There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Lhotka to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority adjourned at 9:36 p.m. 1 -25 -88 -2- 1
