HomeMy WebLinkAbout1991 08-12 EDAM Special SessionMINUTES OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER IN THE COUNTY OF HENNEPIN AND THE STATE OF MINNESOTA CALL TO ORDER The Brooklyn Center Economic Development Authority met in special session and was called to order by President Todd Paulson at 11:55 p.m. ROLL CALL President Todd Paulson, Commissioners Celia Scott, Jerry Pedlar, Dave Rosene, and Philip Cohen. Also present were EDA Director Gerald Splinter, Assistant EDA Coordinator Tom Bublitz, City Attorney Charlie LeFevere, Director of Public Works Sy Knapp, Director of Planning and Inspection Ron Warren, Finance Director Paul Holmlund, and Council Secretary Carla Wirth. APPROVAL OF MINUTES SPECIAL SESSION AUGUST 12, 1991 CITY HALL JULY 221991 SPECIAL SESSION There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Pedlar to approve the minutes of the July 22, 1991, EDA meeting. The motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTIONS RESOLUTION NO. 91 -18 Commissioner Rosene introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PRESIDENT AND EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR TO EXECUTE THIRD -PARTY AGREEMENT FOR YEAR XVII URBAN HENNEPIN COUNTY COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Pedlar, and the motion passed unanimously. 8/12/91 1 RESOLUTION NO. 91 -19 Commissioner Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF PURCHASE AGREEMENT FOR THE ACQUISITION OF 5449 EMERSON AVENUE NORTH, BROOKLYN CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING PAYMENT FOR ACQUISITION COSTS The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Cohen, and the motion passed unanimously. RESOLUTION NO. 91 -20 Commissioner Scott introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION CREATING FUNDS WITHIN THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Pedlar, and the motion passed unanimously. ADJOURNMENT There was a motion by Commissioner Pedlar and seconded by Commissioner Rosene to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously.
