DISCUSSION ITEM
SETTING DATE FOR EDA WORK SESSION
The City Manager indicated the Commissioners have expressed concern with having to
discuss EDA agenda items at the end of Council meetings. He suggested the EDA meet
on the third Monday every other month to allow more discussion time. Routine matters
such as rehab grants, minutes, etc. could still be handled on Council meeting nights.
President Paulson indicated support of this suggestion since it will help to shorten the length
of Council meetings and provide more time and attention to other EDA issues. He reported
the Chamber of Commerce indicated their EDA members would be interested in working
with the City's EDA members to provide input on various issues.
In response to Commissioner Scott's question, the City Manager explained the special
meetings would not be held if nothing was on the agenda.
There was a motion by Commissioner Rosene and seconded by President Paulson, to
establish the following EDA meetings: March 16, May 18, and July 20, 1992, at 7 p.m., with
the March 16 meeting held at the Heritage Center. The motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT
There was a motion by Commissioner Scott and seconded by Commissioner Rosene to
adjourn the meeting. The motion passed unanimously. The Brooklyn Center Economic
Development Authority adjourned at 11:16 p.m.
