In discussions though, with various promoters in the Twin Cities, they all say that "in their opinion" the potential is substantial. In order for a promoter to make money on leasing exhibit space, then re--selling the space to exhibitors, they need at least 250 spaces, i.e. they are not interested in the 14,000 square feet at Earle Brown Farm. In each case though, Brede, Champion Productions and Trade Shows, Inc., told me that they would refer inquiries for smaller shows to us. Marlene Anderson, Manager of the St. Paul Civic Center, told me that shows too small for the Civic Center would also be referred to us. Marlene stated that if she could fit a show in St. Paul she would do it, but we would get a shot at it if a facility, such as the St. Paul Radisson, could not handle it, or the promoter, did not want to commit to Radisson sleeping rooms. Although she has been out of town, and I have been unable to talk with her, I know we can make a deal with Jody Neubauer, Director of Sales for the Minneapolis Convention Center. I am sure that Jody will first refer to the Hyatt, but again, most promoters do not want to commit to the Hyatt's sleeping room requirements. Lastly, Don Engbretson, of Trade Shows, Inc., told me that the new center in 0- 01yof _4 K: 000 s 'C. 10 MINUTES TO METRODOME AND DOWNTOWN ' MtNNGAPOLIS PARTICIPATING PARTICIPATING PAR 1CIPATING Fn~dle HC"ELS/MOTELS CHAMBERS CITIES NORTH METRO O The Northland Inn & Conterence Center p Ramada Hotel-North (612) 566.8000 Brookdale Motel (612) 872.4435 Ot= COMMERCE With Hennepin Qty of eroadym paric CONVENTION Memo January 1988) (612) 535.6354 6 6 98 0 '~57 20 Chamber of Commerce (612) 424-6744 city of AND TO U R I S M 56 6- 1 ( 1 &&ooddyn Center o &mm Motel (612) 424-2277 Inn © e1 skywow M (D cl`o ot " Cornmeme atym ~idey BUREAU © ~ e ~ ~ (6 -8400 o Holiday Inn Moth (612) 5719440 (612) 566 8650 soao Ead@ Brown Drive, #200 . iz) (s p'A"Y ew Motel (612) 566.414° Fr4ey r or commerce Brooklyn Center, MN 55430 (612) 533.6455 (612) 571.9781 (8171 FRR_771)7 Mr. Brad Hoffman March 23, 1987 Page 2 downtown Des Moines is getting many inquiries for "under 100 exhibitors" that they did not anticipate, nor knew existed.
