MEMORANDUM
TO: Earle Brown Farm Committee
'
FROM: Brad Hoffman, EDA Coordinator
DATE: June 9, 1989
SUBJECT: Blacksmith's Shop
'
I would like to meet with the Farm Committee at 6:45 p.m. on
Monday, June 12, 1989, in Conference Room A, City Hall, to
discuss the Blacksmith's Shop. The contractors have asked if we
'
would like to reconsider our current approach to saving this
building. Because foundations Pere going down next week, we have
very little time to consider this matter. It is scheduled for
the EDA meeting as a discussion item at 7 p.m. on the 12th.
In essence, we are moving the building to its new location then
replacing the roof and siding. On the interior it will be sheet
rocked. All we are saving is the existing frame and key interest
points. Obviously, the frame is covered. The contractors are
proposing to build a new frame and save (use) some of the
interest points of the building. I will have some dollars cost
Monday to review. This will be a cost savings and a more
substantial building in the end.
If you cannot attend the meeting and have strong feelings or
comments about this, give either myself or Patti Page a call at
561-5440 and we will relay your feelings to the EDA and the rest
of the group.
