Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the 13th day of October 2004 at 7
p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle Creek
Parkway, to consider An Ordinance Amending Sections 11 -509, 11 -610, and 11 -710 of the City
Code Relating to the Licensing of Establishments for the Sale of Alcoholic Beverages.
Auxiliary aids for persons with disabilities are available upon request at least 96 hours in

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:

ORDINANCE NO. 2004 -20
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 11 -509, 11 -610, AND 11 -710 OF
THE CITY CODE RELATING TO THE LICENSING OF ESTABLISHMENTS
FOR THE SALE OF ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES
Section 1. Section 11 -509 of the Brooklyn Center City Code is amended as
Section 11 -509. PLACES INELIGIBLE FOR LICENSE.
1. No license shall be granted, or renewed, for operation on: 1) any premises, on
which any taxes, assessments, or other financial claims of the City, County., or [of the] State are
due, delinquent or unpaid, 2) any premises that is part of a larger tax parcel on which ad valorem
real estate taxes or assessments collected with such taxes are due, delinquent, or unpaid. In the
event an action has been commenced pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 278 Minnesota
Statutes questioning the amount or validity of taxes, the Council may, on application by the
licensee, waive strict compliance with this provision; no waiver may be granted, however, for
taxes or any portion thereof, which remain unpaid for a period exceeding one year after
becoming due.
Section 2. Section 11 -610 of the Brooklyn Center City Code is amended as
