Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the 14 day of October, 2002, at
7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle Creek
Parkway, to consider an Ordinance Amending Chapter 34 of the City Ordinances Regarding
Development Complex Signs.
Auxiliary aids for persons with disabilities are available upon request at least 96 hours in

ORDINANCE NO. 2002 -12
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE CITY
ORDINANCES REGARDING DEVELOPMENT COMPLEX SIGNS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 34 110 of the City Ordinances of the City of Brooklyn
Center is hereby amended by adding the following new definition:
Sign,. Development Complex A freestanding sign identifying a multiple
building development, such as a shopping center, a planned industrial park or office

Section 2. Section 34 -140 of the City Ordinances of the City of Brooklyn
Center is hereby amended as follows:
Section 34 -140. PERMITTED SIGNS
3. Permitted Signs Requiring a Permit
A. Commercial (C -2) and Industrial (I -1 and I -2) Districts
2. Freestanding Signs
e Development Complex
Tn addition to the freestanding identification signs otherwise
allowed by this ordinance, every multiple building development
complex shall he entitled to one freestanding sign per street
front, at a maximum size of 145 sq ft at a height not to exceed
15 ft. to identify a development complex. No tenant or business

Any freestanding sign otherwise permitted under this ordinance

Section 3. This ordinance shall become effective after adoption and upon thirty
(30) days following its legal publication.
