lisher of the newspaper known as Sun Post or the president's des-
ignated agent, and has full knowledge of the facts stated below:

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on
the 13th day of August, 2001, at 7 p.m. or as soon there-
after as the matter may be heard at the City Hall, 6301
Shingle Creek Parkway, to consider an p ce pro-
hibiting "the intentional feeding of deer.
Auxiliary aids for persons with disabilities are available
upon request at least 96 hours in advance. Please contact
the City Clerk at 763 669 -3800 to make arrangements.
ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE FEEDING OF
DEER
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN
CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 1 of the Brooklyn Center City Ordi-
nances is hereby amended to renumber section 1 -120 as
Section1 -300.
Section 2. Chapter 1 of the Brooklyn Center City Ordi-
nances is hereby amended to add the following section.
Section 1 -200. FEEDING OF DEER PROHIBITED
No person may place. nr permit to he placed on the {ground
fruit. nuts. fodder. salt licks or any other food, including
feed for birds. which may reasonably be expeetsed tas result
in deer feeding. unless surf, item are screened or pmteet-
a d in a manner that prevents deer from feeding on them,
except as, follows:

accordance with its deer management plan;
2. Yetarinalizza. City animal control officers. or countae
state or federi l game officials who. in the course of their
duties. have deer in their custody: or
3. Any food placed upon the property for the purpose of
trapping or otherwise taking deer where such trapping or
taking is pursuant to a permit issued by the Department
of Natural Resources.
Section 3. This ordinance shall be effective after adoption
and thirty days following its legal publication.
