HomeMy WebLinkAbout2000-14 11-27 CCOCITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held on the 27th of November at 7 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard at the City Hall, 6301 Shingle Creek Parkway, to consider an ordinance amending the City's policy for water and sanitary sewer hookup charges. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: as follows: ORDINANCE NO. 2000 -14 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE WATER AND SANITARY SEWER HOOKUP CHARGE POLICY Section 1. Section 4 -201 of the Brooklyn Center Ordinances is hereby amended Section 4 -201. WATER CONNECTION PROCEDURES AND REGULATIONS. Subdivision 1. Permit Application. Any property owner desiring a permit to connect a dwelling or other building to the public water system of the City of Brooklyn Center shall apply therefor, through a licensed plumber, at the City department of planning and inspection. Subdivision 2. Payment of Connection Charge. been paid or spread against the premises, thcn Prior to issuance of a connection permit the applicant shall be required to pay the connection charge in full.= a. Pay the balance owing thereon.; or b. Consent to the spreading of s :Pb with interest payable at the special assessment interest rate established by the city council. ORDINANCE NO. 2000 -14 as follows: as follows: Section 2. Section 4 -302 of the Brooklyn Center Ordinances is hereby amended Section 4 -302. SANITARY SEWER CONNECTION PROCEDURES AND REGULATIONS. Subdivision 1. Permit Application. Subdivision 2. Special Assessment Review. Section 4 -103 of the Brooklyn Center Ordinances is hereby amended Section 4 -103. PUBLIC UTILITIES FUNDS. There shall be maintained within the City accounting system a separate fund to be known as thc public utilities fund separate funds established for each distinct utility. All monies collected by the public utilities division shall be deposited in such the appropriate fund. Such Each fund shall be used to meet all the expenses for operation, maintenance, repair, plant expansion, and administration of the public utilities division that utility. Section 4. Sections 4 -201, 4 -204, 4 -205, 4 -302, 4 -304, and 4 -305 of the Brooklyn Center Ordinances are hereby amended by deleting all references to the "department of planning and inspection" and substituting "community development department" therefor. Section 5. Sections 4 -102 and 4 -201 of the Brooklyn Center Ordinances are hereby amended by deleting all references to the "public utilities superintendent" and substituting "public utilities supervisor" therefor. ORDINANCE NO. as follows: 2000 -14 Section 6. Section 4 -303 of the Brooklyn Center Ordinances is hereby amended Section 4 -303. CONDITIONS OF USE. The public utilities division shall regulate the discharge of waste through the sanitary sewer system pursuant to standards established by the State of Minnesota, the Metropolitan Scwcr Board Metropolitan Council Environmental Services, and the Brooklyn Center public utilities division works department. Section 7. This ordinance shall be effective after adoption and thirty days following its legal publication. Adopted this 27th day of November 2000.
