Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held
on the 14th day of August, 2000, at 7 p.m. or as soon there-
after as the matter may be heard at the City Hall, 6301
Shingle Creek Parkway, to consider An Ordinance Amend-
ing Chapter 7 of the City Ordinances Regarding Refuse
Containers.

AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 7 OF THE
CITY ORDINANCES REGARDING REFUSE
CONTAINERS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN
CENTER DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. Chapter 7 of the City Ordinances of the City
of Brooklyn Center is hereby amended as follows:
Section 7 -102,' REFUSE STORAGE AND DISPOSAL.
Subdivision 1. Containers Required. The owner of any
premises, and any other person having refuse as herein de-
fined, must provide and keep on such premises sufficient
containers for the storage of refuse accumulated on the
premises between disposal or collection. Each container
must be watertight, must have a tightfitting lid, must be
impervious to insects, rodents, vermin, and absorption of
moisture and may not exceed 30 gallons in eieeunlcco ooh-

All refuse on any premises must be stored in required con-
tainers unless it is immediately consumed or disposed of
on the premises in an approved incinerator.
All commercial, business, industrial, or other such estab-
lishments having a refuse volume in excess of two cubic
yards per week, and all six -family and Larger dwellings,
must provide approved bulk or box type refuse storage con
tainers or approved equivalent. The containers Faust be
located so as to be accessible to collection equipment and
so as not to require an intermediate transfer.
Section 2.
This ordinance shall be effective after adoption and thirty
days following its legal publication.
