ATTENDANCE: Self introductions were done for new member BETSY DICK.. FINANCIAL REPORT: NELSON reported no change in funding in a report to QUENROE. Will update further at next meeting. INSURANCE: JERRY A44kexplained the need for helicopter insurance due to specific events clause in Earle Brown Days policy. Certificate of insurance is required on the following events: Carnival, Hot Aar Balloons, Car Show, Senior Ball, King and Queen, Ice Cream Social, Fishing Contest, and Circus. Additional coverage is needed for parade. COMMITTEE REPORTS: CARNIVAL: No further information. Posters out on May 1. Working on electrical power to site and possible using generators. RESOLUTION: BARONE will make sure a resolution is put before the council declaring EARLE BROWN DAYS as a civic event. (April 20, 1987 Meeting) SIGN ORDINANCE: $10.00 per sign that is put up. BALLOONS: Nine confirmed to date with a goal of 15 Currently soliciting sponsors and looking to this event to be subsidized by committee. CAR SHOW : All set for June. PARADE: On April 8 nine bands and 20 units were confirmed. Maximum of 150 units for the parade. CIRCUS: Problem with tickets at Burger King, will continue to pursue. ICE CREAM SOCIAL: NYQUI'ST/COHEN will be the speakers for the event. Essay winners will also be present as well as King/Queen, QUENROE and SLUPSKE. All as speakers during the event. PAGEANT: One nomination received to date and will be open until June 1, 1987. Discussion of changing to name other than Senior Royalty. PARK AND RECREATION UPDATE: MO ion by DOTH second by COOK, to set up advisory committee to work on t- 1e 1988 Park and Rec. Entertainment schedule. Passed. AUCTION: Possible move date and location to event where people are already at. May go to May 30 date but will check with carnival owner first. OTHER EVENTS: COOK will talk with the MN Strikers after playoffs. Renaissance performers are available for a fee. COOK will look at budget and time for the other events. BUTTON SALES: Cost is $.219 plus freight, each. 5000 ordered and the High School will sell the buttons for $1.00 each. ThrE!e drawings, for $500.00, $250.00 and $100.00. If winning button not claimed prize will go to CEA P program. High school students club will make $.20 each. LAPEL PINS: Bi-centennial Committee needs to approve design and cost. MEMORABILIA: Samples of mugs, ingots, key chains, spoons, etc. were viewed. Decisions on what to sell needs to be made soon. AMBASSADORS: MCCARTHER handed out information on the Ambassador drive and goals. Kickoff on May 21, 1987. 0 ADJOURNED: 9:45 a. m.
