Meeting Minutes
February 9, 1988

Those present Alford, Nelson, Quenroe, Dorff, Nerburn, Nyquist,
Vreeland, Christensen, Roen, Countryman, LaCrosse, and Ron Blake
representing Minnesota Street Machine Association
Treasurer's Report: Nelson reported a current balance of 16,418 and
and outstanding bill of 7,570.
Button Sales/Memorabilia: Roen will help Dorff. Dorff will contact
the Brooklyn Swim Club to see if they're interested in selling.
Car Show: Ron Blake proposed a one day show on June 26 from 10 am-
5 pm at either Westbrook Mall or First Brookdale Bank. Cohen will
• be contacted to see if the ambassadors can find a sponsor. Nerburn
will check with city about the Westbrook Mall location for the car
show and auction.
Parade: Nerburn reported invitations have been sent out. Countryman
said junior royalty might be able to use a Lion's float.
Carnival: Contract has been sent using same location. Slupske and
Alford will look into the possibility of moving dates of the current
carnival to Earle Brown Days dates or looking into other carnivals.
Goal date is September 1, 1988.
Circus: None for 1988; none for 1989. In 1989, committee will look
into possibility of circus for 1990.
Publicity: The quarterly brochure deadline is March 14. Events must
be firmed up by that date to be included.
Other Business: A sub-committee was formed to examine the possibility
of finding a permanent, common location and dates for Earle Brown Days,
to chaired by Dorff with members Cohen and Quenroe. Goal is January 1,
1989.
LaCrosse asked committee chairs to give the parks and recreation
dept. at least three days notice to get things typed. The department
has their own copying machine now.and EBD items can be copied by the
clerical staff. Please send work through LaCrosse whenever possible.
