HomeMy WebLinkAbout1988 02-22 EBDMi ) YN Earle Brown Days 02prooklyn Center Minnesota 01 Shingle Creek Parkway 55430 ~c I'II' ~e (612) 561-5440 Earle Brown Days Meeting Minutes February 22, 1988 City Hall Those present: Quenroe, Nelson, Dorff, Schram, Roen, Countryman, Alford, Cohen, Nyquist, LaCrosse and Barb Cox, representing Chief Lindsay. MINUTES of the February 9 meeting were approved. FINANCIAL REPORT: Balance is the same. A letter was sent to Gerald Splinter with the breakdown of the $7,570 owed to city for Constitution Hall. It will be paid in three annual installments beginning September 30, 1988. LOCATION/DATES: Quenroe, Cohen, Slupske, and Dorff met with Splinter. Sub- committee is looking at official dates starting with Dudley tournament and ending the following weekend. They are also looking at Brookdale parking lot for future site of many of the activities. MEMORABILIA: Dorff passed out a proposal for buttons. Buttons would include a picture of Earle Brown on horseback along with the red barn. They would sell for $2 and would be sold with a card to be signed for drawing. Hats could be purchased for $1 with a button purchase or $1.50 without. Dorff needs help. Committee members are asked to provide him with names and phone #s of potential volunteers. Cohen suggested a one-day community support day for button sales. Purchasing buttons will be included in the ambassador packets. Board approved Dorff's proposal. AMBASSADORS: Cohen will report in two weeks. SENIOR KING/QUEEN CORONATION: Coronation, tea and possible dance is scheduled for Monday, June 20. Info will go out April 10-15. Schram will work closely with senior centers. PUBLICITY: Deadline for activities to be included in the city newsletter is March 7. It was suggested to add day of week to schedule of activities. Dorff, Nerburn and LaCrosse will appear on the Brooklyn Center City Special on April 26. TIME FOR MEETINGS: Meetings will be held at 7:30 a.m. Monday mornings every two weeks. NEW BUSINESS: It was suggested to have the picture of Earle Brown on horse- back added to stationery. LaCrosse and Christensen will look into it. Quenroe asked each chairman to write a description for their job and a description of the committee members' jobs. Due March 7. NEXT MEETING: Scheduled for Monday, March 7, at 7:30 a.m. at City Hall.
